SEVA seeks to identify and support individuals and communities through capacity building projects and to work together in partnership to address identified social issues and needs of common concern. Through our work with many organisations – including Multicultural NSW, Department of Social Services, Parramatta Council and Northern Beaches Council – we have identified issues and areas of support required by the South Asian community including domestic and family violence including elder abuse, mental health stigma preventing community members seeking medical help, understanding how to navigate the aged care system, employment barriers particularly for new migrants.
SEVA International welcomes such collaboration on topics that are relevant to the the South Asian community living in Australia.
